DSLP400- Dry Cutting General Purpose Masonry Blade Premium Grade These blades are a compromise between a brick blade and a block blade. This blade will cut most of your standard face brick but not hard brick or pavers. It will also cut block but will wear quickly depending upon how abrasive is the block. 14 X .110 and 20 X .140 are the most popular sizes.

It is very important to know that all wet cutting blades must be used with water as a coolant. Dry cutting blades can be used wet or dry and in most applications adding water to a dry cut blade will increase the life of the blade. When a job requires dry cutting depths greater than 2 inches it is important to make multiple passes with the saw of only 1-2 inches a pass, until full depth is reached. This process is called step cutting. When dry cutting with a blade it is important to allow the blade to air cool periodically to avoid overheating and damaging the blade. To prevent overheating cut with the blade for 30 to 60 seconds then back off of the material and allow the blade to spin freely for 10 to 20 seconds.
